Access Log Manager
Access Log Manager - what role does it serve and how you can use the info you'll find inside it.
An access log is a text file that contains an extensive report on all of the files accessed by your Internet site visitors. All of the files which were requested in one way or another will be included, so when you have a PHP script program and a website visitor opens only the home page, for instance, you may find plenty of files in the log. This is because there are components on the home page which are embedded - parts of other Internet pages, images, and so on. All of these files will be listed in the access log, so that you can get a complete picture of the way your website performs. The info is in plain text format, so the logs are often referred to as "raw data" too. An access log provides the name of each requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, as well as the user’s IP address, browser and Operating System. More info, including the referrer website, is typically included too. A log file may be processed by various desktop programs for statistical purposes as an addition to the web stats generated by your website hosting server.

Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting
Our in-house built Hepsia CP features a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are one of them. Once you sign in to your
shared hosting account and visit this section, you'll find a list of all the
domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to click on a button that will be available next to every domain/subdomain. If the option is active, you will see a download link along with the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your laptop or computer and look at it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect instantaneously, so if you no longer require one, you could stop it with a mouse click from the exact same section of the Control Panel. You will still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
When you have a
semi-dedicated server account with us, it will not take more than a couple of clicks to trigger the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The feature could be activated through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and this may be done individually for each domain name or subdomain that you have in your account. When you log in and navigate to the Access/Error Logs section of the Control Panel, you'll discover a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to each one. A single click shall activate the log generation and a second one will deactivate it, so you can control this function with great simplicity. A Download link in the same section will permit you to save the created content as a text file, that you could then use on your computer. Whether or not the logs are disabled, you will still be able to download the data which has been previously generated.
